Protected Areas are defined as surfaces of Land or Sea protected by virtue of Laws or Decrees. There are several types of protected areas: Public, private or those described as Natural Heritage Sites. These are the main ones that I know of. Every protected area has its own set of rules and regulations. Public ones are usually regulated by virtue of laws and/or decrees issued by the Government or the Parliament. The private areas of protection have their own rules set by their respective owners. Public Natural Heritage Sites are protected by virtue of National and International standards. Why are Protected Areas Established
These areas are established for many reasons amongst which are: Protection and promotion of ecological biodiversity, which includes Fauna & Flora mainly, plus Historical, Archeological, Natural and others...
How do they promote the above?
By creating such areas one is protecting all the above mentioned sites. Thus, you preserve the entire natural and historical heritage by not allowing any human intervention except for maintenance operations. Eco-tourism could be encouraged following a set of standards which will not disturb the natural process of regeneration. Protected Areas should always be clean, proper and well maintained.
Benefits To Hunters The benefits of protected areas are very numerous. They include, amongst others, the natural growth and propagation of Wildlife in all its forms. In so doing, there is a natural process created whereby the cycle of wildlife is not interrupted by humans. Whenever there is an excess of any wildlife specie, it will expand beyond the borders of the protected areas into spots where hunting is permitted. In other words, protected areas serve as a reservoir for wildlife. Hunters will hunt more abundantly while, at the same time not decreasing the population numbers. Protected areas are also the right place to reintroduce extinct species that used to inhabit those decades ago. Protected areas are the ideal spot to carry out research on any kind of wildlife. So Hunters encourage the establishment of protected areas.
ENJOY YOUR HUNTING IN A SOUND AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
